The toilet is separate from the cottage, located just behind it. Trust us, the views make it all worth it!

Guest Access & Amenities

Full access to the cottage and private garden.
Wander through the orchard and pick seasonal fruits.
Secure storage for bikes in the garage.

I live on the same property, just next door to the cottage, with my own fenced off private garden area.

Please note: The property is home to 4 friendly dogs and 4 cats, and while the dogs won’t disturb you if the gate remains closed, the cottage is home to Napkin the cat and you may have another kitty or two come to say hello.

Discover Bereaville: A Cultural and Historical Gem

Bereaville is a rural farming village with a rich heritage. Originally established in 1865 as an extension of the Genadendal Mission, the village is home to descendants of the original settlers. Life here moves at a gentle pace:

A Little Piece of History

Bereaville was founded to alleviate overcrowding in nearby Genadendal. By the end of its first year in 1865, it housed 49 residents. Each property was granted a quarter hectare of arable land along the river. The original leiwater channel, built with stone, is still in use today for irrigating crops.

Today, the village is home to around 500 residents, with family names like Potberg and Williams still living to the streets that carry their namesake.
